Justin Timberlake - Last Night (Live 2008) 26.08.
Live version from his latest World Tour. The original from his debut album Justified is awesome, this is way more… sophisticated, funky, lounge, groovy which equals… Beauty. White boys unite!
Janet Jackson - Rock With U 26.08.
No it’s not a cover, original as anything we’ve ever heard BUT… Can you believe NE-YO wrote this song? An artist always exploring something brand new, not afraid to venture outside the box! Janet is back with this Dance/Disco/House/Electro track from her 2008 album Discipline. OK, where’s my strobe lights!?
New Funky Estelle - Pretty Please feat Cee Lo 19.08.
Now when Estelle first appeared on the UK scene a few years ago, she was primarily a rapper. Her first mainstream success came from the single “1980″ which we didn’t think was that hot, but not that bad either. This time around though, she seems to have gone to work on her singing, and teamed up with some American producers and coming with some really funky and rnb style singles and videos.
Kanye West - Champion Video 13.08.
This is by far Kanye West’s best video to date. I really loved the ‘Good Life’ clip, but that was just basically the hip hop video version of Justice’s D.A.N.C.E clip - pure biting. That isnt to discredit Kanye for the job they did on that music video, but it is left way behind compared to this one. Even if this clip isn’t the real video and just part of some promotion event, I respect Kanye doing something completely left field on this one.
The Mac Band - Roses Are Red 05.06.
Classic one hit wonder band here, The Mac Band with this Babyface produced #1 US R&B hit back in the late 80’s. The band are 4 brothers/vocalists from Flint, Michigan. This track taken from their 1989 album The Mac Band Featuring the McCampbell Brothers.
The Deele - Two Occasions 28.05.
Ok, this is the first slow jam we’re giving you on Blue Funk, the first of many! You may have heard of 80’s funk band The Deele, it’s two main, LEGENDARY band members, keyboardist Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds along with drummer Antonio “L.A.” Reid. Check em’ out here… back in their young days
